The Himalayas of Nepal has been source of spirituality and finding oneself for ages, and is also the birthplace of Buddha who passed along his teachings of knowledge, wisdom, compassion, and peace to all living beings on Earth. Walk through ancient temples, monastery, Stupaand courtyard; spend some time with holy sagesand monks; and rejuvenate yourself in yoga and meditation to find your inner peace and harmony.

The journey begins at the heritage city of Kathmandu, followed by passing through the picturesque city of Pokhara and the thickly forested national park of Chitwan. You will have discovered an important facet of Nepal that includes –among others– culture, lifestyle, art, and tradition; majestic Himalayan peaks and serene lakes; and a number of wild animals and birds coexisting in harmony. This trip exposes you to the beauty and simplicity of life in Nepal!

This program helps to support them with books, food, accommodations, and tuition facilities. You will have the opportunity to visit a local school that is part of the program.

Day 01

You will be picked up at the airport by one of our colleagues who will be holding a sign bearing your name. They will escort you to a vehicle and then you will be transferred directly to your hotel.

You will be invited to a traditional Nepali dinner and culture show of various ethnic groups of Nepal that evening.

Day 02

You will meet your guide at 9 AM in the hotel lobby from where you will commence the Kathmandu tour. Before departing from the hotel, the guide will provide a short introduction on the activities of the day.

You will first head to Pashupatinath temple which is the largest Hindu religious complex of Nepal dedicated to Lord Shiva and important not only from spiritual but historic and an artistic point of view.  After lunch, you will drive to Patan Durbar square that seated the medieval royal palace of Patan until the mid-19th century. The place is flanked with artistic and majestic monuments that recount a plentitude of interesting, esoteric legends as well as fascinating historical facts. Finally, you will visit the stupa of Swayambhunath situated at a vantage point that caters you to a good view of the valley.

Day 03

After breakfast you will embark on a 7 hour drive along the winding riparian highway that leads to Pokhara, the second biggest tourist destination in Nepal after Kathmandu. The valley has at its disposal a number of attractions and activities including lakes - a couple of which are canoe-able, breathtaking views of snow-white peaks, stupas & temples, viewpoints, and other areas of cultural / natural significance. You will have a free day in Pokhara, which you may participate in activities such as canoeing at Phewa lake or just strolling around the banks of the lake. In the evening,  you might want to partake in the nightlife of the town.

Day 04

You will set out early in the morning to the hilltop village of Sarangkot in order to relish the magnificent sunrise on the Himalayas. After getting back to the hotel for the breakfast, you will then visit the chief attractions of Pokhara including Davies Falls, Gupteshwar Cave, and the International Mountain Museum, before concluding at Phewa lake where you can go for boating if you wish.

Day 05

The journey towards the southern belt of Nepal starts early and after approximately 4 hours drive you will reach your jungle resort situated at one of the buffer zones of Chitwan National Park. You will embark on few jungle activities like a birdwatching tour and/or jungle walk.  In the evening you will delight in the traditional stick dance performed by the Indigenous Tharu people who dwelled the forest area even when it was uninhabitable.

Day 06

You will partake in a number of adventurous jungle activities including canoeing along Rapti river, visiting the elephant breeding centre, and a jeep safari. Apart from one horned rhinoceros, crocodiles, and deer which are a normal sight of the National Park, you might even see tiger, leopard or python if you’re lucky. Besides animals, there are nearly 450 different species of birds in the park that will render the forest safari very colourful.

Day 07

You will retrace the highway back to Kathmandu which will take approximately 6 hours. You will have the afternoon free in Kathmandu.

Day 08

After breakfast visit a rural village's local school and learn about how the local NGO READI supports Educational Programming. A portion of the cost of this trip helps support this initiative.  Head back to Kathmandu for an afternoon of shopping!

Day 09

Depart for home.
