This retreat takes place in Nosara… Nosara is unlike anyplace on the planet. Its rich vegetation, amazing surf, and active wildlife make it a truly special place for people looking for adventure, rest, or simply a different way of life. The lifestyle here is relaxed and friendly–most people work hard but know how to let loose and enjoy their surroundings. With so many natural cultural attractions it is easy to see why.
The guests will arrive in Liberia and depart on a complimentary shuttle bus to Nosara. The bus is a 2.5 hour journey from the airport on a scenic route.
Deepen your yoga practice and dive into a journey of self discovery. Join yoga instructor Marisa Cline for a unique and introspective yoga retreat for women in the jungles of Nosara, Costa Rica. Immerse yourself in the surrounding jungles, expansive quiet beaches, daily yoga and meditation classes, and vibrant organic food to nourish your body, mind, and soul. Reconnect to the wild woman in you through time spent amongst women, submerged in nature, with nothing but the time and space to inspire you to hold space for yourself.
Daily yoga and meditation sessions will take place in the open air yoga pavilion surrounded by lush jungle; on the beach at low tide, providing the perfect place for a playful practice; or along the shore at sunset for quiet introspective guided and self meditations. Each session through out the week will build upon the previous. An interwoven fusion of dynamic breath focused vinyasa; deep restorative healing; postural and movement breakdown, alignment, and exploration; and deep intrigue and discussions into the practice; all layered to deepen your practice and cultivate the space to journey into the depths of the self.

A Typical Day…
Wake up at 8am with a morning yoga session followed by a delicious healthy breakfast. After breakfast head to the beach to surf the waves and return just in time for lunch. After lunch go for an afternoon hike in search finding a secluded place to rejuvenate by one of the 3 different beaches. The evenings you will have the option of attending another yoga or meditation session followed by a delicious locally sourced meal prepared by the local Chef Meghan Pearson. With close access to a local community you can venture out for a couple beers or continue to relax at the Nosara Bed & Breakfast.
The whole idea behind this retreat is to allow yourself to unplug and rejuvenate. The beauty is to have an unstructured itinerary so you can find time to slow things down and reconnect with yourself. We live in such a chaotic world that sometimes simplicity is a beautiful thing. Plus it leaves room for spontaneous moments.
Optional activities can be arranged either beforehand or upon arrival at Nosara.
More About Nosara
Nosara and its surrounding beach towns of Garza, Guiones, Pelada and Ostional have become favorites among traveling surfers of all levels for both its waves and relaxed pace of life. It‘s located on the Pacific coastline of Costa Rica about 2 hours from the Liberia airport, 4 hours from the San Jose airport or a short 45 minute commuter flight.
Nosara recently appeared in National Geographic and New York Times Travel as “World’s Best Surf Towns” and “45 Places to Go in 2012”. Friendly people, year-round warm water, great restaurants, fun nightlife, world renowned yoga, world-class fishing, snorkeling and the longest zip line in Latin America are just some of the reasons for its popularity. But we chose Nosara for a different reason. It’s one of the most consistent surf breaks in the world which means that during your trip, chances are high that you’ll score ideal conditions regardless of your SUP ability level. We have over 350 surfable days a year with 90% being clean waist high to head high waves.
The area is also home to the Reserva Biologica Nosara which is a 90 acre nature preserve that is situated along the Nosara River. The reserve sets the stage for all sorts of eco-activities including SUP flat water paddle touring. The Reserva is packed with over 270 species of birds, monkeys, pizote, iguana’s and all types of flora/fauna.
Unlike other surf towns around the world, you wont find condo’s lining these beaches. Back in the 70’s the Nosara Civic Association declared a large portion of the area a Preserve thus creating large green spaces and buffers throughout the community. 40+ years later, Nosara still looks and feels like a tropical jungle.
You will spend one night in Liberia prior to the retreat. If you would like to arrive earlier or stay later this can be arranged.
